CNY 2012

Posted in Food, Girls <3, Happy, V <3 by maggie on January 27, 2012

Happy Lunar New Year!

Every year, this time, i would snack EVERYDAY WITHOUT FAIL. Pineapple tarts, bak kwas, peanut puffs and kueh lapis are my must eat food. High calories and fat!! :O Haha. Anw, this time of the year i’ll celebrate with either of these 2 possibilities, happy happy in KL or have a drama mama time in SG. So, this year it’s in SG so yeah some dramas happened but it’s all over now. :)

So CNY, spent aplenty of quality time with the boyfriend! We spent alot on movies, food and food! So this week, have been eating these.. sharing some here.

Beach Culture on a Tues night! Sea-facing alfresco dining area with a variety of food with affordable prices! Definitely going there again. :)

Platter for 2.
YUMYUM TO MY TUM.

Wed night, Geylang frog leg porridge for supper after hanging out at G’s crib. :)

Soyabeancurd with fried dough fritter thereafter! SINFUL

Ichiban Boshi @ AMK hub on Thurs after our school ! :)

———–

Today, went back to GVSS with the girls! Nostalgia.

Managed to see some of the teachers who taught us during our graduating year. It’s been 5 years since I left there. One of the teacher even mentioned that looking at us, we reminded him that he have aged. hahaha. But the feeling to there is really funny. The moment i stepped in, i would start to have flashbacks of the past, those days.. that i’ll remember even when i grow old. Not to mention, I feel so old too now, hitting 22 years old soon with a blurry future. Really, alot of thinking need to do.

Okay, shall not end with a sad note. I just bought deal vouchers to a Thai Buffet, it was an impulse buy, hoping it will be good thou. hahaha.

HELLO 2012!

Merry Christmas!

Posted in Happy, Travel, V <3 by maggie on December 25, 2011

This year’s christmas was a simple one. I didn’t like the super ex course meals which restaurants love to come up with every year for christmas after being raped ($150++/) once at Serenity Bar back in 2009. So, this year V brought me to batam (for R&R and massage) for a pre-christmas trip and then to a simple dinner & movie date on the eve of christmas! :)

A&W straight after check-in! WE LOVE MALAYSIA’S ONE MORE :)

VERY SIMPLE BRIGHT ROOM I LIKE :D

LOOKING VERY PLEASED AFTER MASSAGE!

We decided to call for room service at 1am (SG TIME). Mad sinful. But the food worth the sinfulness, it rocked!

Woke up to breakfast in the morning and whilst eating, the staff there danced ! LOL

I can see how passionate are they ! Very nice, polite staff, will want to stay there again if I were to head to batam again! :)

Christmas eve, we had a platter for 2. It stated for 2 person, but it turned out to be too much for 2!

HAHAHAHAHAHA

Watched Mission Impossible 4 thereafter, very nice movie! :)

Post-christmas celebration feast out tmr with E and G! YAY.

Shall go bake my brownies now for tmr..

when 24 hours are never enough.

One word to describe last week: HECTIC.

Assignment deadline, tests, work, gatherings… and my cousin came to Singapore for holiday! So, i didn’t really gave her great hospitality for which i felt bad. :( Anw, it was a hectic yet fulfilling week although I have alot of sleeping debts to clear. Okay so here’s how my enjoyable week flew by!

Antoinette with CXY! Hehe. Like finally.

Bubbly girl excited to dig in!

Our verdict: The cakes were more flavorful than their mains. Will go back there for HI TEA. :D

Adventures of India //Part 1

Posted in Family <3, Happy, Travel by maggie on December 9, 2011

17th October 2011 – 25th October 2011

10 DAYS IN INDIA.

My family, together with my relatives (bridegroom’s family) made a trip to India, Shillong to attend my cousin’s wedding. It was a pretty great experience as we managed to step foot in a more laid back, not as advanced as Singapore, 3rd world country. I must say, India is really a beautiful place. If you are an adventurous person who enjoys sightseeing more than shopping, you should really make a trip there! :D  This trip, I’ve learnt to really treasure what I have here now, having the latest technologies and concrete roof above our head when we sleep at night. When I was there in Shillong, I see some people and kids (especially) who lived in poverty going round to their famous shopping place/ town area to beg for money, wanting to help but we could not as we knew that once we started giving.. a huge crowd of kids would come and surround you. Anyway, my cousin-in-laws’ arranged a really pretty guesthouse to accomodate us, we have housekeepers, servers and all in the house, so practically everything we want, we just ask and we will be served. However, we learnt that whenever we want to eat at a certain time, we need to let them know way in advance as it there takes about an hour before your food is served (this waiting time also happens when you dine in restaurants!) hahaha. The weather was AMAZING throughout the trip. :)

It was terribly long journey to Shillong, seriously it felt as though I was attempting a journey to the west! hahaha. It took us a good 2 days to reach Shillong.  We took a 4 hour plus flight from KL to Kolkata (formerly known as Calcutta) followed by an hour of domestic flight from Kolkata to Guwahati and then about a 4hr car ride UPHILL to Shillong. The worst thing was that, the journey uphill was STEEP, NARROW, DUSTY AND BUMPY. :O

That’s my aunt and I with a stretch of old lockers along our transit rest rooms. Yup, we stayed a night over at Kolkata’s airport, due to our domestic flight timing.

Mummy looking really happy in front of a mama shop, at our rest stop uphill!

One of India’s signature happenings. :D

Everyone looking tired…

FINALLY

Yes, this is where we stayed. BEAUTIFUL :D

——

The next day, woke up to a really beautiful morning with GOOD QUALITY FRESH AIR :D

After breakfast, we (DADDY AND I) decided to CAMWHORE!

JUMPSHOTS DADDY AND COUSIN HAHAHAHAHA DADDY SO CUTE

COUSIN AND I :D

DADDY AND ME

OH MY DAD IS SO HIP LOL.

TOWN AREA – POLICE BAZAAR

LUNCH AT A VERY NICE PLACE :D

DADDY MUMMY LOOKALIKE LOL

KHUBLEI MEANS THANK YOU IN KHASI. :)

WARD’S LAKE.

Thereafter, SUPER HEAVY RAIN.

We missed the elephant falls. :(

Anyway, we managed to see Mount Everest during our domestic flight due to the good/clear weather. The air crew mentioned that it is not a everyday thing, so lucky us!

Looks pretty mini here though. Geeez

Sightseeing post next! :)

Finally

It’s been quite some time since we last met. Love time like this, spending a night out with my girls & vin soe. :D

As you know, I can never have the patience for anything (& I have a really intolerable bad temper); parallel parking has always been my fear/pain.

Ytd, I could finally park into it, thanks to dad for giving me crash course (3 attempts) the day before HAHA.

So now, I would love to be able to drive around ulu places to haunt for good food! :D

Bedok 85 + Udders last night.

We missed you, Joyce. <3

Using Lynette’s phone cam effects, looking koreanish. :D

& Vin soe behind the cam. hahaha

It’s been a long time since we went out of the East/date to look for food! Started out Sunday with Brunch at Arbite, Upper Serangoon Gardens.

Pretty nice place to dine in with very simple ikea-ish furnitures!

The food was really GOOD especially their main courses (wins FFT).

Wedding Reception @ MBS – Singapore Stop!

Posted in Family <3, V <3 by maggie on November 16, 2011

I had a chance to explore India for 10 days, (thanks to my cousin for marrying an Indian!) am still working on the posts of 10 adventurous days! Anw, this wedding is quite a “big thing” as they had to hold banquets across 3 countries! Starting from India, Singapore and then Malaysia. Will be attending the Malaysia one this weekend though, stay tuned. Too lazy to share about India as it was freakin’ 480+ photos from my lens alone only, too much to filter. Meanwhile I’ll update the one in Singapore first which took place just last weekend! :)

Photos were taken with my new camera: Canon S95. AWESOME MUCH I TELL YOU. Although that camera very much raped my savings, I have to say that my money was well spent! Yup, most expensive item I’ve got for myself till date. I is very happy with the outcome of it! ^^

Alrights, pixies time!

Helped out in the reception, the dolls were really cute !

My cousin invited Vic too! :)

Mummy and my cousin, the bridegroom!

Uncle and Aunt :D

Mr. Goodlooking that day. Love that blazer. :D

Bride in Khasi costume :)

Guests. Thankgod it was not like India (had 350+ guests!), or it will be chaotic. LOL

My dear cousin, who likes to bully/pinch me when we were younger!

Ladies.

After that, Vic and I went to roam around MBS shoppes as it was my virgin visit.. nthn much though! Wanted to step in Prada and Tif&co badly, but I didn’t as I knew I couldn’t afford for them anyway so what for see! :P

Chillax at Bugis thereafter. :)

GLUTTON IS WATASHIWA.

I need motivation for a diet. Looked so obscenely fat in every single photo! >:[
